Tutor for afternoon program @WLM

The NGO Waridi La Matumaini (WLM) assists children from marginalised households and members of their families. They aim for sustainable support to fight poverty through creating responsible adults. WLM supports children with basic needs, life skills, education, experiences and empowerment through inclusive approaches. They support through family assessment, counselling, school visits, fundraising, contributing donations and health insurances. The project expects the volunteers to participate in following tasks:

• Tutoring the children and supporting them with homework,
  
• Offering English lessons for the children and their parents,
  
• Planning and conducting educational excursions, and
  
• Creating projects in art/music/dance/sports/etc..
  
• Fundraising for the project.
  
• Technical advice for the project (social media, publicity work, brochures, etc.).

Teaching Assistant @MSA

Montessori Sunshine Academy (MSA) is a private early childhood education center dedicated to providing high-quality Montessori education for children aged 1-6 years. You can apply to work in the toddler class (1-3 years olds), or in the Children's House (3-6 years olds). The school offers a nurturing, child-centred environment that fosters independence, creativity, and holistic development. Located in Mwanza, Tanzania, our goal is to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning through Montessori principles. The job of the volunteer/intern include:

• Support the lead teacher in preparing and conducting Montessori-based lessons and activities.
• Assist with daily classroom tasks including observations, record-keeping, and parent communication.
• Foster a loving, calm, and nurturing atmosphere where children feel safe and supported.
• Help children with daily care routines such as dressing, toileting, eating, and napping.
• Actively supervise and engage with children to ensure their safety and development.

Please note:

• volunteers (no Montessori qualification needed) can only join for the minimum of one full term (term 1: 25.08.2025-05.12.2025; term 2: 05.01.2026-01.04.2026; term 3: 20.04.2026-03.07.2026), and
• interns (in the process of getting/Montessori certified) are welcome to come for any amount of time.

Kindergarten teaching assistant @TAHEA

Tanzania Home Economics Association (TAHEA) works with children, women and different communities in Mwanza. The NGO facilitates development processes among poor families and communities, supports them to utilise their potential to improve their living standards. The kindergarten in Igombe is Montessori based. Two full-time teachers teach the 60 children and need support from a volunteer/intern. The jobs of the volunteer/intern include:

• Assisting the kindergarten teachers with daily tasks
• Teaching the children and playing with them
• Visiting other kindergartens and projects of TAHEA

Kindergarten teacher @ TAHEA

Tanzania Home Economics Association (TAHEA) works with children, women and different communities in Mwanza. The NGO facilitates development processes among poor families and communities, supports them to utilise their potential to improve their living standards. One of the schools set up by TAHEA is in very poor condition (no materials, equipment and one teacher for 40 students). We are looking for someone with experience to teach at the school (minimum stay 6 months) and also train and support the teacher. The jobs of the volunteer include:

• Preparing lessons for the children
• Teaching the children through play
• Cooperating with local teachers
• Administrative tasks
